Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AGhas signed a memorandum of understanding with Hubei International Logistics Airport Co. Ltd (Ezhou Airport)

Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, acting on behalf of Leipzig/Halle Airport, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hubei International Logistics Airport Co. Ltd (Ezhou Airport) and Shenzhen S. F. Taisen Holding (Group) Co. Ltd. (SF Express).

The agreement was signed at Ezhou Huaha Airport on 20 November. The trilateral cooperation arrangement covers a strategic working relationship with the Chinese airport and SF Express to develop air freight connections between China and Leipzig/Halle Airport, Europe’s third-largest cargo airport.

Other areas of cooperation include: working together to establish environmentally-friendly air cargo logistics to reduce CO2 emissions, develop airport infrastructure, digitalise logistics processes as well as exchange and train specialist workers in the field of air cargo.

The project is being supported by Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH (the Saxony Trade & Invest Corporation) and representatives of this organisation were also present at the signing ceremony.

The MOU was signed by: Zhang Hao, the Commander of Hubei Hub Industry Development Command of SF Group; S.F. Express Co., Ltd., Steffen Böttger, the Vice President Sales Cargo/Logistics at Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, and Liu Lixin, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Hubei International Logistics Airport Co., Ltd.; Hubei International Logistics Airport Co., Ltd.
